CCTV, Automation and Monitoring

The latest tech is no longer only within the reach of large luxury hotels; now it is affordable by even the smallest guest house or B&B

CCTV, Automation and monitoring has come along in leaps and bounds in the last few years with huge improvements in quality whilst at the same time being massively more affordable.  

We've used all kinds of technologies in our own hospitality business and combining that with our prior technology consulting expertise we can now help you do the same:

CCTV:  We can advise you and supply and install of affordable CCTV and  today's CCTV IP cameras costing little more than £100 each can outperform 6 year old cameras costing 5 times the price and a DVR (digital recorder) with half a terabyte of memory is less than £300.  What's more the viewing software that many older systems require you to licence on a camera by camera basis or pay a subscription to use is free for many systems we recommend.   

Automation:  Our guest house is now so automated that many of it's features run itself and not only does this reduce staff time but it also saves energy:

Lighting: Some of our innovations add guest benefits from as simple as adding bedside control of the main lights to remote control mood lighting and so on, so even the most  modest B&B can provide guest facilities normally the pervue of upmarket boutique establishments.  There are safety benefits too.  For example by replacing obsolete electromechanical time clocks all our external lighting not only switches on at dusk and off when we want it but can also be overridden at a moment's notice, even from a smartphone.  If our fire alarm goes off, all our external lighting comes on regardless of the time of night.

Entertainment: All of our music in public areas is under automated control:  The radio comes on in the restaurant for breakfast tuned to a local station and automatically changes to more suitable "mood music" after breakfast service and then changes again to suit the evening mood in the bar before turning off overnight.

Heating: All of the heating is individually controllable on a room by room basis, even though there is one central boiler system.  We can also see the actual temperatures in all the rooms and more than that, what temperature the guest has set the thermostat to - ideal for late spring and early autumn when you are wondering whether to turn the boilers off or on.  We also have solutions that control the boilers entirely by demand.  You can even turn off the heating in each individual room remotely - very useful to avoid paying to heat unoccupied rooms!

Monitoring: With innovative monitoring systems you can keep on top of many potential problems before guests even notice them.  We monitor our commercial fridges and freezers and as well as this keeping a track record to supplement manual checks for Environmental Health and support document for your excellent food hygiene rating you will rapidly become accustomed to the normal patterns and operations and this makes spotting impending failures likely before they happen.  You can even have devices email or text you if they go out of normal operating bounds!  We also monitor the temperatures of the main pipes of our heating and hot water systems and benefits of this can be similar.
